New Featured Snippets on Right Side of Google


More and more webmasters are reporting a kind of new Featured Snippets on the right side of Google. A space that until now was reserved for Google's Knowledge Panels.

It's too early to try to figure out exactly what it is. And Google has not yet released any information on the subject.

You can see here an example of what we are talking about.

In Portugal I have not seen any yet, but markets like Spain or Brazil have already begun to receive these in the Featured Snippets.

To understand the impact of these on the highlights on the right side of Google, I did a 5 page CTR analysis that has keywords to trigger these Featured Snippets.

Will These Featured Snippets Impact CTR?

In blue the average CTR for KWs that fire the Featured Snippet on the right side and the orange the average results for the same Kws in May before there is this new highlight.

The bottom line is that these new Featured Snippets have no impact on visitors. It may be because they are new and users are not yet accustomed.

Surely a theme to keep under eye.
