HANG IN THE CHANGES TO GOOGLE
HANG IN THE CHANGES TO GOOGLE
About a month ago, Google announced that they chose to rebranda parts of their brand, namely the Google AdWords advertising tool. We'll take a closer look at what changes have been made and what features and tools you should keep looking for in future!
Google AdWords launched in 2000 and has gone from having 350 advertisers at the start of their 15th anniversary having over 1 million advertisers. Now 18 years later, Google chooses to rebrand Google AdWords and the advertising tool now becomes Google Ads. The reason for this is Google's opinion that it will be easier and clearer to understand what ad products are available and facilitate users to find the tools that best suit their purpose and goals. We now see that Google has updated its products with new Google Ads even though all new updates and features will be rolled out in the next few months.
Google AdWords vs. Google Ads
Okay, so Google's advertising tool has a new name and new logo, but what does the change actually mean? Yes, Google Ads, unlike Google AdWords, represents the whole Google campaign of campaign types. AdWords is primarily associated with search advertising, and the new package makes it clearer for advertisers that they offer multiple ad types and variations of campaigns, both on different platforms and in several different formats. This means that everything from search and display to video ads on YouTube is collected under new Google Ads. Google itself means that this will make it easier for advertisers to reach out to people, regardless of whether they are looking for information via e.g. search engine, other websites, Google Maps or Google play.
Google Ads Manager and Google Marketing Platform
As part of Google's work to create a clearer structure and insight into its product portfolio, product segments include Google Ads Manager and Google Marketing Platform. In short, the product segment Google Ads Manager includes the "DoubleClick for Publisher" and "DoubleClick Ad Exchange" tools. Google Ads Manager is primarily designed for publishers as a platform for managing real-time display campaigns and business. Google Marketing Platform, in turn, is a product segment including Google Analytics 360 and DoubleClick. This will therefore be the new marketing platform for larger companies and agencies that we want to keep track of and collect statistics for their campaigns on everything from website and search engine to paid advertising on external channels.
New features of Google Ads
As usual, Google's products and tools are widely used. We'll review some of the news recently launched by Google, which is in the pipeline.Smart Campaigns
Google recently launched Smart Campaigns, a campaign option for smaller companies who want smaller campaigns. It is easier to set up, adjust better after a lower budget and is more flexible to optimize. You do not need to have a lot of experience in setting up campaigns, and it is now done via the tool in just a few minutes.
Responsive text ads
Now, ads are getting bigger when Google presents "Responsive Search Ads". Responsive search ads give you all three headlines and longer breadth. You will then be able to write two description texts with 90 characters instead of 80 on each and 30 characters per heading. The total amount of characters will make Responsive Search ads double as Expanded Search Ads.
Google Shopping
Google wants to facilitate the work of Google Ads, and thus wants to enable more automated solutions, launching Goal-Optimized Shopping Campaigns. Like Google Smart Campaigns, they are now making it easier to get started with advertising on Google Shopping. Through the new campaign type, you set up your advertising in just a few minutes.Google Speed update
We've talked a lot about the mobile first index, which means that ranking depends entirely on the speed your website is charging via mobile, regardless of whether the search is via desktop. Google ruled out this summer, which imposes some other requirements on advertisers, which means that Google has also developed a tool for easy testing of the charging time of your website. Stay up to date and do not lose important traffic unnecessarily. Test the tool and your website here.
Thanks for sharing this update!
