A survey of Sprout Social we have learned, based on answers from 2000 SoMe Marketers and 1200 Consumers, claims that video is the single most important tool for success on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. When 3 out of 4 consumers share videos from businesses and 3 out of 5 say it's more interested in products shared by their friends it becomes clear why video is so important in Social Media. Furthermore, consumers in the survey state that they prefer well-produced video material 4 times more than less produced material.

According to Facebook, video is especially important for connecting consumers to mobile. Given that both Instagram and Snapchat, but also Facebook, to a large extent, primarily used by your phone, it becomes important to use a mobile first strategy when it comes to video material. Facebook states that mobile first videos are 27% more likely to generate positive effects for your brand than videos that are not optimized for this.
